Director's Welcome

Catholic School

Dear Future Families and Students:

Thank you for your interest in St. Catherine Military Academy. Begun in 1889, St. Catherine is the only day/boarding academy with a military tradition for boys in grades Kindergarten to Eighth Grade in the United States.

Selecting the right school for your son is an important decision. I am confident that St. Catherine offers a unique educational experience, one that prepares boys for both the rigors of high schools and college itself. St. Catherine provides an educational community that is rooted in spiritual development, academic excellence, and leadership development. Our entire school community is dedicated to helping make each boy successful.

Why St. Catherine’s Military Academy? St. Catherine is a Catholic school where the spiritual growth of each boy is a priority. Owned and governed by the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose, our academy is a private Catholic school, yet we joyously welcome families of every faith.

Our academy has more than 119 years of commitment to educational excellence, fostered through small class sizes. Each classroom is also equipped with a Smart Board which helps each teacher to use up-to-date technology in a creative, hands on way.

An international school, our English as a Second Language class is exceptional in teaching students English as well as the United States culture.

Our sports are outstanding, frequently winning championships in football, basketball, and volleyball. We have an outdoor field, an indoor gymnasium, and an indoor pool. Our beautiful, 8 acre campus is quiet and safe for our boys.

Without question, our Music Department is second to none. Boys are instructed in piano, guitar, and band instruments. Our marching band is proud to represent our academy in the many parades and other events they play in.

As a Catholic school with a military tradition, we teach each boy the meaning of honor and discipline, with honor being the excellence of character to include integrity, dignity, courage, and discipline. Our military personnel are instrumental in teaching and modeling to the boys how to give and receive honor and to build within each boy the qualities of leadership.

Come and share the experience with us.

Sincerely,

Graciela Salvador
